How to build a garden shed.
Install belly board or replace all siding.
In this video series you ll see the step by step process as we fabricate and assemble all the parts of this garden shed including the tips and techniques you ll need to know to build one for yourself.
Create a cross section elevation of the side of the structure where you want the belly band to appear.
15 minute vinyl siding repair with a zip tool.
Navigate to build trim 3d molding line then click and drag a line where the belly band should be.
With a helper expect to spend a day installing 800 square feet of siding.
Using the select objects tool click to select the 3d molding line.
Before you begin cover the sheathing with building wrap and install trim boards and flashings.
Replace siding by working from the bottom up you might need a helper here.
Install the new boards.
Board and batten can be installed onto solid plywood or osb sheathing.
First everything has to be removed.
This tutorial will cover the basics of how to cut replace and fix this issue.
Take the replacement board fit it in place image 2 and nail it in with a hammer using galvanized nails.
If your sheathing is not solid you will need to first attach horizontal furring strips.
Once all the nails are removed from the adjoining board the damaged one should just pull out.
Slide the zip tool along the bottom edge to release the vinyl siding from the piece below it.
Be sure to nail into the existing holes on the adjacent siding.
Plumbing and wiring will also need to be inspected and repaired if damaged.

Remove the torn insulation and black belly board.
Starting at one end of the damaged piece push the end of the zip siding removal tool up under the siding until you feel it hook the bottom lip.
When you replace the boards use a homemade reveal set jig to match the reveal of the existing siding.

The courses should overlap by at least 1 in.
Then install insulation under your home and finally install a new belly board.
