There are only two steps needed to install a gutter apron.
When you install roof.
Install the top section of your apron by slipping it under the starter shingle course.
It is a solid sheet that is pre formed to fit under the shingles and over the gutter underneath the roof line.
We usually install apron with a minimum of 4 inches on the roof.

Gutter aprons take on an additional role by hanging down an inch or so into the back of the gutter to prevent water from dripping or splashing behind the gutter.
