When it comes to lubricating the springs of the garage door there are many who never even thought about doing that.
How to grease garage door spring.
Take some time to use rags to rub the tracks and cables of the garage door assembly.
Spray the length of each spring liberally with the silicone lubricating spray.
Step 3 lubricate the springs.
We recommend using a non silicone lubricant such as lps 2.
Set up a stepladder under the front torsion springs if your door has springs on a torsion bar above the door.
Use one or two sprays on each hinge.
This will lubricate the moving parts on the door and will make opening and closing the garage door much smoother.
The springs are located in the front of the system at the top.
Slowly lift your garage door up manually and spray each hinge as it meets the bend of the track.
The goal is to see metal again and not black grime.
Remove as much of the old lubricant as you can.
Always avoid spraying wd 40 on any part of your garage door.
Open your door and spray the lubricant on each of the hinges.
Open and close the garage door to work the silicone into the spring.
