Install Rake Trim Metal Roof

With the rake trim in place i m going to slide the z trim underneath and make a mark on the roof deck so i know where to install it.

Install rake trim metal roof.

Make a 1 mark from the edge on top of the gable trim. Ridge caps should be installed so that all end laps are away from the prevailing wind. Install the roofing screws vertically along each rib in the panel. I ll also mark on the panel so i know where to fasten the z trim.

Insert a magnetic 1 4 inch driver bit into a power drill. Next cut it to length. Before we put the gable trim on we need to put tape seal on top of the z trim to make. Make a 90 degree mark at the drip edge and across to the edge of the gable.

Using your previously locked t bevel draw a line from the 1 mark inwards towards the drip edge. Be sure the larger edge is laid so that the small edge of the next panel will overlap it. Place the first screw. We will position this on the roof so that we can fasten it to the roof deck and install the rake gable trim.

Align the center bend of the ridge cap directly over the center line of the roof ridge. Learn how to install gable and rake trim on a metal roof. Mark a parallel line at the 1 mark. While eave trim does need to be cut and folded to fit the fascia and gable it requires minimal angling to make a proper fit. Installing this type of trim is a bit easier than installing rake trim. The last step is to use screws again between 12 and 24 inches apart to fasten the eave trim in place.
